Premier League: James: From being ostracised under Zidane to shining in the Premier League

Premier League Nominated for September’s Player of the Month prize

James Rodriguez is among the nominees for September’s Player of the Month award in the Premier League.

The Everton playmaker made his debut with his new team this month through which he has been one of their top performers.

James has netted one goal and has registered one assist in three Premier League games so far this season.

The Colombia international’s aura and quality have helped Carlo Ancelotti to change Everton’s game.

“I’ve come here to try to improve, to get better,” James declared in his presentation.

“I’ve also come here to help the team to win, to play good football – entertaining football.

“I’m convinced, with Carlo and his technical staff, we can achieve big things and one of the big reasons [I signed] was the presence of Carlo Ancelotti.

“I have enjoyed some great times with him previously at two different clubs. That was a massive reason to come here.”

The Toffees are currently sitting joint-first in the Premier League table, along with Liverpool and Leicester City, with three wins from three games.

To win the Player of the Month award, James will have to compete with teammate Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has already scored five times this season.

The list of the nominees also includes Patrick Bamford, Timothy Castagne, Jamie Vardy, Sadio Mane, Tariq Lamptey and Harry Kane.

The nomination is a great achievement for James who struggled to find space in the Real Madrid squad last season under Zinedine Zidane.

However, life has changed for James since his departure from Los Blancos during the summer.

From being ostracised under Zidane, he has managed to earn a nomination for the Premier League’s Player of the Month in September.
