Scottish Premiership Gerrard admits disappointment in his players
Despite everything having gone Glasgow Rangers‘ way this season, the Scottish club have been forced to suspend five of their players for breaching COVID-19 protocol.
The aforementioned individuals all attended a house party whilst nationwide lockdown rules were in place throughout the United Kingdom.
Rangers coach Steven Gerrard was not best pleased by the situation and named the five players who broke the rules, removing them from the club’s squad to face Royal Antwerp in the Europa League on Thursday.
“We’re very disappointed and will address this issue internally,” Gerrard declared.
“The players will be punished and for the moment they will be removed from the team whilst they isolate themselves.
“Then, I will have a face-to-face conversation with each of them.”
Bongani Zungi, Nathan Patterson, Calvin Bassey, Dapo Mebude and Brian Kinnear have been named as the five players who attended the party.
