The fact that Atletico Madrid have won again means that Real Madrid can’t afford any slip-ups in LaLiga Santander, after already suffering four defeats and four draws this season.

If they want to keep pace with their neighbours then they need to keep bringing in three points each game.

This Sunday afternoon, Valencia will visit the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano and Real Madrid know they need to win this ‘final’.

Even though Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez are back, Los Blancos still have many absences. They’re without the injured Sergio Ramos, Eden Hazard, Alvaro Odriozola, Rodrygo, Fede Valverde, Marcelo and Eder Militao for this one. Even Marvin Park, who played against Getafe in midweek, is now injured as well.

Facing Real Madrid will be a Valencia side looking to pick up points and to enter the race for European qualification. They’re currently 12th, but have already defeated Real Madrid this season by winning 4-1 in a penalty-filled game at Mestalla.

They won’t have coach Javi Gracia on the sideline for this game since he is suspended, while centre-back Hugo Guillamon is banned too. Ferro could, therefore, make his debut in central defence.
