NBA Supported his teammate after a big mistake
Ricky Rubio knows his role at the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Spaniard’s words to Russian Alexey Shved won him a lot of fans in his first spell there.
Having come up short, Shved was annoyed, and Rubio responded.
“Change that face, enjoy it, be happy,” he told him, which went around the world.
Now, he’s showing his leadership again, having returned to Minnesota.
“It’s a young team,” Rubio said upon his return. “My role doesn’t change from one team to the other, I have to help the young players grow.
“I think I know how to get the best out of them.”
Rookie Anthony Edwards suffered his own shortcomings in a recent defeat to the San Antonio Spurs. The Timberwolves trailed by three and he had a chance at an easy two points, but instead looked to pass back into a three-point zone, but had his pass intercepted and the buzzer went.
Rubio looked to use it as an opportunity to teach, and had a word with Edwards on the court.
“We have to keep working hard and take care of each other,” Rubio said.
