Shaquille O’Neal criticises James Harden and calls him a liar

NBA Guard forced way out of Rockets

The news that James Harden has been traded to the Brooklyn Nets excited many NBA fans on Wednesday, but one person who was not impressed is Shaquille O’Neal.

The four-time NBA champion was critical of the way in which Harden claimed that he had done “everything” he could for the Houston Rockets.

“Yes and no,” Shaq said on NBA on TNT when asked if he had a problem with Harden forcing his way out of Houston. “One, it’s the business of basketball.

“But when you say you gave the city your all, that ain’t true… you asked for Dwight Howard, we gave him to you, didn’t work out. You asked for Chris Paul, we gave him to you. You asked for some shooters, we gave it to you. You asked for [Russell] Westbrook… we gave him to you, it didn’t work out.

“When you say, ‘I gave you everything’, I say, ‘no, you didn’t’, because the last five games when it comes to elimination, you’re 1-4, shooting 41 percent, 24 percent from three, 32 assists, and 27 turnovers.”

“He ain’t do nothing. He ain’t step up when he was supposed to step up. When you’re the man, and you make all the money… it’s a big responsibility.”

“When it came time to show up, he ain’t show up. So, I know a lot of people in Houston are glad he’s gone.

“Now he’s got his little super team, he’s got to win this year. If he doesn’t win this year, it’s a bust. Period.”
