NBA Why doesn’t he shave? Who is his idol?
James Harden‘s trade from the Houston Rockets to the Brooklyn Nets has been the biggest story of the NBA season so far, but here are some things you perhaps didn’t know about the All-Star guard.
It has been his trademark look for many years now, but Harden offered a simple explanation a few years ago in an interview with the New York Times.
“I don’t like to waste my time shaving in the mornings,” said Harden.
He also said that he’d be up for shaving it off for charity, but he set his price at 10 million dollars.
He doesn’t always use it, but when he does do his stirring the pot celebration it is to show that he’s found his rhythm and no one is going to stop him in that match.
In his university days, Harden could often be seen puffing on his inhaler, but being asthmatic didn’t stop him from going on to be one of the top players in the NBA.
He has never hidden his admiration for Manu Ginobili, a fellow left-handed guard who he faced numerous times before the Argentine’s retirement.
In July 2019 he bought shares in MLS team Houston Dynamo and its women’s affiliate Houston Dash, who play in the NWSL.
Like many athletes, he cares about his image and is no stranger to modelling for designers such as Valentino.
