Atletico Madrid A lethal attacking due
Atletico Madrid seem to have found the right ingredients for the attacking recipe that could lead them all the way to the LaLiga Santander title in the partnership between Luis Suarez and Joao Felix.
The Portugal international started in Sunday’s match against Valencia after three consecutive games coming off the bench and scored one goal but also produced an assist for Suarez.
It didn’t take Atletico much to see their wounds being healed after their defeat to Real Madrid in December as Los Rojiblancos haven’t dropped a single point since in LaLiga Santander.
Suarez‘s contribution to that run has been impeccable as the former Barcelona striker has scored seven goals in the last seven duels, netting decisive goals in five of those matches.
The Uruguay international has won a topscorer award both in Spain as well as in the Premier League, having been also awarded the Golden Boot in the past.
His strike against Valencia is just a showcase of quality, placing his effort into the bottom right corner and leaving Jaume Domenech unable to react.
Suarez‘s arrival has benefited Felix who teed up his teammate for the second time this calendar year in the 3-1 win over Los Che. The first assist came in the game against Alaves in Vitoria, where Suarez netted a late winner to give Atletico all three points.
Although there are surely aspects of their partnership that need to be polished, the understanding between the two Atleti forwards looks already strong on the pitch.
Joao Felix‘s talent and Luis Suarez‘s experience could be the key for Atletico to win their first LaLiga Santander title after 2013/14.
