Real Madrid – La Liga LaLiga president speaks on Osasuna game
LaLiga president Javier Tebas has spoken out on the controversy surrounding Real Madrid’s match against Osasuna, even calling into question Zinedine Zidane‘s version of events.
After the 0-0 draw with Osasuna in Pamplona, Zidane criticised the decision to play the game and claimed his team had been forced to travel despite the adverse weather conditions.
“The version given by Madrid annoyed me. On Friday I spoke with their general director more than 14 times,” said Tebas.
“I told him that if he thought the team was very anxious the best thing to do would be to return to the training ground and attempt the journey the following day, and he said no.
“I don’t know what information Zidane had before the journey. I’ve seen so many excuses from coaches when the result doesn’t go their way and this will just be another one.”
Tebas also said he would be speaking to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez about how the club were portraying the events.
“I’ll call him as I’m not at all happy with what has gone on,” said Tebas
“The final decision to travel was taken by Real Madrid.”
