NBA Mamba versus his successor
It was ten years ago today, February 20, 2011, that Kobe Bryant won his fourth All-Star game MVP award after a hotly contested game against his supposed successor, a certain LeBron James.
Mamba put up 37 points and 14 boards in one of the more competitive All-Star games in recent history, while King James chalked up a triple double with 29 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
Their personal duel was the focal point of what became an iconic match in All-Star history.
The contest was edged by the West 148-142 and also featured standout performances from Kevin Durant (34 points), Amare Stoudamire (29), Pau Gasol (17+7), Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh (both with 14 points) amongst others.
