Liga Endesa Barcelona have put the Frenchman in their second team
Having failed to sell him to an overseas team, Barcelona have taken the decision to send Thomas Heurtel to their B team, as they had threatened to do on December 24.
The Frenchman remains at Barcelona despite all parties wanting their time together to end this winter, and he’ll continue to receive his full payment of two million euros a year.
Heurtel isn’t the first player to be managed in this way by the Catalans. In 2017, Tyrese Rice was sent to Barcelona B having been put on the market but not sold.
“It’s a crazy situation,” said Heurtel’s agent, Mizko Raznatovic.
“Barcelona don’t want him but, on the other hand, they won’t let him leave to go where he wants to go. It’s hard to know why.”
