The top Premier League moments of the month – November 2022

It’s weird to think that a month dominated by the World Cup began with some blockbuster Premier League action.

It’s been a busy November for club football and international football, and the former closed with a couple of weeks of madness.

Here are our ten best Premier League moments from November.

Miguel Almiron

The redemption of Miguel Almiron has been one of the stories of the season so far, and his silky goal against Southampton was a recent highlight of this rise.

The ball somehow stuck to his foot the whole way as he dribbled towards, past and even straight through a retreating Saints backline, opening the scoring in a 4-1 win.

Mikel Arteta’s near-flawless record at Stamford Bridge as Arsenal manager continued with a 1-0 victory against Chelsea on November 6.

After a tense first half, Gabriel Magalhaes grabbed the game’s only goal from a corner just after the hour mark to continue the Gunners’ title push.

Nottingham Forest thought they had blown it when Brentford managed to score twice to come from behind at the City Ground, but Steve Cooper’s men went pushing on in search of a crucial equaliser.

They eventually found one in the 96th minute when Morgan Gibbs-White’s shot was cleared off the line by Ben Mee, but straight into Mathias ‘Zanka’ Jorgensen and back into the Bees’ net.

Youri Tielemans, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Youri Tielemans only scores belters.

His latest came in Leicester’s comfortable win at Everton and was almost a carbon copy of a similar strike at Wolves a few weeks earlier. The Belgian flicked the ball up off his thigh before looping it up and over Jordan Pickford into the top corner.

Unai Emery, Douglas Luiz

Unai Emery is back in the Premier League and he’s already got Aston Villa fans dreaming of glory.

His new side raced into a two-goal lead at home to Manchester United on his first outing in the Villa Park dugout, before Jacob Ramsey atoned for his own goal to seal a memorable opening win.

Fulham looked to be heading towads a credible draw away to 10-man Manchester City, but they were undone right at the last.

Antonee Robinson was judged to have fouled Kevin De Bruyne, and with 95 minutes on the clock, Erling Haaland scored from the spot to break the Whites’ hearts.

Harry Kane, Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma

Coming off the back of successive defeats, Tottenham had a point to prove when Leeds came to north London.

Spurs fell behind three times at home to Jesse Marsch’s side, but rallied back late and a brace from Rodrigo Bentancur ensured they went into the World Cup break on a high.

A week prior to that loss, Leeds were on the right end of a comeback in a seven-goal game.

The Elland Road crowd grew restless as their side went 3-1 down at the start of the second half, but were saved when Sam Greenwood, Liam Cooper and Crysencio Summerville delivered goals to secure a memorable win.

Alejandro Garnacho

What a way to announce yourself to the Premier League.

18-year-old Alejandro Garnacho has been impressing for Manchester United this season, but his crowning glory came when he turned on the afterburners to race in behind the Fulham defence and score a 93rd minute winner at Craven Cottage.

Ivan Toney

The scenes. The limbs.

Brentford left it all on the pitch in their trip to Manchester City off the back of their EFL Cup humiliation at the hands of Gillingham. Ivan Toney scored the opener before Phil Foden’s rocket brought the champions level.

Thomas Frank’s men dug in deep, and after 98 minutes, Toney popped up again to steal the win, one of the biggest results in Brentford’s history.
