FC Barcelona – La Liga Dutch coach has made a documentary
Ronald Koeman’s first six months at Barcelona have been full of ups and downs and in his new documentary ‘Forca Koeman’ the Dutchman shows exactly what his time in the Camp Nou hotseat has been like. The film is set to debut in Holland on February 17.
In the documentary made by Edwin Winkels, the cameras follow Koeman during his first six months at the club and give an insight in to the unknown side of the Barcelona coach.
In one scene, we see the prediction he makes over young star Pedri just before taking his first training session with him.
“There’s one kid called Pedri who signed from Las Palmas,” said Koeman.
“I don’t know him but they say he’s going to be the new Laudrup or the new Iniesta, but I don’t know him. We’ll see.
“He’s the biggest talent in Spain”.
‘Forca Koeman’ also looks in to some tenser moments at the Camo Nou such as Lionel Messi’s possible departure from the club.
“I want to keep Messi,” said Koeman.
“I want him to stay because he’s the best in the world.
“But he needs to know that there are going to be changes. We’re going to give opportunities to young players.
“He has to decide if he wants to continue with our ideas.
“If he doesn’t, we’ll respect his decision, but he has to say if he’s staying or not”.
In the end, the Argentine decided to stay, and Koeman showed how pleased he was about this after the victory against Real Betis.
“Messi is a giant, it’s just as well we have him,” he said.
“Against Betis he really made the difference.
“When he came on our team transformed completely, our players got a lift from him and the opponents were scared”.
