Coronavirus Saturday was most productive day yet
The United States surpassed their daily record for coronavirus vaccinations on Saturday as Joe Biden‘s pandemic programme continues to be rolled out.
The new president has pledged to vaccinate 100 million people in the US in his first 100 days in office, while 40 million is the first goal.
According to Bloomberg, the country vaccinated more than two million people on Saturday – their highest daily number yet. Figures for last week show an average of 1.43 million vaccinations per day.
According to the American Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 8.3 million people in the country have received both injections of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Despite the progress of the vaccination programme, the USA’s predicament remains fragile. There are fears of gatherings to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday
Aside from the 22,000 crowd at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, authorities are on the lookout for social gatherings within people’s homes to watch the game on TV.
