Tom Brady has secured his place in the Super Bowl for the 10th time, as his Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Green Bay Packers 31-26 at Lambeau Field in the NFC Championship game.

The Bucs got off to a fantastic start as Brady threw a touchdown for Mike Evans just four minutes into the match, and they closed the first quarter with a 7-0 lead.

However, less than a minute into the second quarter, the Packers hit back. On 3rd and 3, Rodgers picked out Marquez Valdes-Scantling down the right touchline and he was able to catch the ball ahead of Carlton Davis before running untouched into the end zone.

There was an immediate response from the Bucs, though. Just after Brady threw a bomb for Chris Godwin, Leonard Fournette showed why the Jacksonville Jaguars picked him with the fourth overall pick in the 2017 Draft by using a mix of a power and finesse to make his way into the end zone from the 25-yard line.

Some big defensive stops followed, but then Brady showed why he is regarded as one of the best players of all time. With the time running down just before half time, he launched a deep throw over Packers cornerback Kevin King and into the arms of Scotty Miller to give the Bucs a 21-10 lead after the Packers had hit a field goal beforehand.

The Packers, playing in front of 9,000 home fans, fired back in the third quarter and outscored the Bucs 13-7, but they still trailed 23-28. Both Brady and Rodgers were having uncharacteristic interceptions as the match wore on, but ultimately the Packers were unable to take advantage and cut the gap, as shown with the fourth quarter scoring: 3-3.

The Bucs managed to hold on at the end and secure their place in the Super Bowl in Brady‘s first season in Tampa, while they will also make history by becoming the first team to play a Super Bowl in their home stadium.

Brady only added to his legacy with this victory, as he has now joined Kurt Warner, Peyton Manning and Craig Morton by being the only players to reach a Super Bowl with two different teams. He will be looking to go one step further, though, and match Manning by lifting the Vince Lombardi Trophy with two teams.

Later on Sunday night, the Bucs will find out their opponent in the Super Bowl as the AFC Championship game takes place between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead Stadium.
