Toronto FC have been actively offering Yeferson Soteldo to other clubs, 90min can reveal.
The creative Venezuelan only moved to Canada from Santos in April 2021. However, despite a strong individual season with four goals and six assists in 26 appearances for a Toronto side that struggled near the foot of the Eastern Conference table, the move hasn’t worked out on the whole.

Reports of Soteldo’s unhappiness in Toronto – on and off the pitch – have fostered an unfortunate subnarrative to his debut MLS season.
TFC are currently heavily linked with Napoli and Italy winger Lorenzo Insigne. Waking the Red’s Michael Singh tweeted on Tuesday that the two parties had agreed to terms, with Insigne slated to move to Toronto in the summer.

90min understands Insigne’s representatives are still awaiting further offers around Europe with Inter Milan and Tottenham remaining interested, but it’s unlikely anyone will be willing to match the generous terms offered by Toronto.
For the Reds to facilitate a deal for Insigne, who is set to become the highest-paid player in MLS history, they’ll have to move on one of their existing Designated Players (DP).
Soteldo has recently been linked with a return to Brazil, with Sao Paulo and Palmeiras among the teams mentioned. 90min are told Toronto have been offering the player to other clubs globally at an asking price of $7m – $500,000 more than what they paid for him earlier this year.
Aside from Insigne, TFC are also being linked with Torino striker Andrea Belotti. Once again, should they wish to pull off such a high-profile and expensive transfer, another DP would have to be moved on or bought down.
Alejandro Pozuelo suffered a downturn in form and struggled with injuries last season but was the league’s MVP in 2020 and is unlikely to leave. Jozy Altidore has long been linked with a departure from Toronto, with the two parties thought to be working on a way to terminate his contract.
