Real Madrid – La Liga Hasn’t impressed in north London
Tottenham Hotspur are clear that they will not make a move to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid on a permanent basis unless his form improves.
Bale, who has spent much of the season on the sidelines, is increasingly likely to return to the Spanish capital in the summer.
“Right now, Tottenham are now not considering a second season for Bale at Spurs,” say The Times.
“If Bale was to stay, it would simply be a gesture to help one of their past heroes.”
When Bale left Real Madrid in the summer, it was believed that it would be for good.
“We hope that Bale carries on with us after this season, that is the idea,” said Tottenham coach Jose Mourinho when Bale joined.
However, injuries and poor form have restricted him to only 116 minutes in the Premier League this season, and instead he has made the majority of his appearances in the Europa League and English cup competitions.
The Times state that unless Bale‘s performances improve significantly in the coming months, he will return to Los Blancos in the summer.
