Wolves are becoming increasingly annoyed with winger Adama Traore and his failure to so far sign a contract that was agreed in principle several weeks ago.
Traore’s existing deal at Molineux runs until 2023 but Wolves were hoping to tie the former Barcelona academy player to a fresh contract following an outstanding 2019/20 campaign that brought with it rumours of interest from a handful of elite clubs.

Wolves have already secured new deals for top scorer Raul Jimenez and club captain Conor Coady, as well as manager Nuno Espirito Santo, and wanted Traore to be next to commit.
90min understands that an agreement was reached over a new contract with the 24-year-old Spain international, with only issues with his agent left to be sorted out. Wolves did not have any major concerns about the deal, but it has become a source of frustration that is has been left unsigned.
There is now an annoyance at Molineux, including from Nuno, who believes Traore should have signed the contract by now. As it stands, the situation has been dragged out.
With 18 combined goals and assists to his name last season, Traore is yet to get off the mark so far in 2020/21 and hasn’t started a Premier League game since September.

He has only appeared as a substitute in each of Wolves’ last five fixtures. But while it is not clear exactly why he has been consistently left out of the starting XI in recent weeks, sources believe that his stance over the new contract has played at least some part in it.
Despite having also sold Diogo Jota to Liverpool in a £45m deal in September, Wolves boss Nuno has instead preferred to start with Daniel Podence and Pedro Neto in support of Jimenez up front.
