Bundesliga Reyna and Hoppe see their value rise
The Bundesliga has become a second home for football players from the United States, with numerous young North American stars earning their stripes in Germany.
Teenagers Gio Reyna and Matthew Hoppe at Borussia Dortmund and Schalke respectively are two of the US players making big strides in the Bundesliga, as reflected in their market value.
In the list of most valuable players in the Bundesliga published by Transfermarkt, Reyna has risen to 12th place, with his value soaring from 30 million euros to 38 million euros thanks to his regular game time and impressive performances alongside the likes of Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho.
Hoppe, meanwhile, has been one of the surprise factors of this season in Germany, scoring five goals in his first 10 league matches, seeing his value explode from 100,000 euros to three million euros.
Elsewhere, USA international John Brooks, 28, has increased his value from 10 to 12 million euros with his displays at Wolfsburg.
His international teammate Tyler Adams, 21, of RB Leipzig has also seen his value take a sizeable jump, from 16 to 20 million euros.
However, the most valuable North American player – in Germany and worldwide – continues to be Alphonso Davies, although the Canadian’s value has dropped five million to 75 million euros.
