GK: Emily Ramsey (Birmingham): Despite relegation, she finished a stellar loan season with a clean sheet in a city derby against Aston Villa and made several saves to underpin the win.

CB: Molly Bartrip (Tottenham): The best of the Spurs back three as they wrapped up their best ever campaign with a win and clean sheet against Leicester.

CB: Louise Quinn (Birmingham): Arguably doesn’t deserve to be going down after the season she has had. Put in another fine performance as the team repelled Villa.

CB: Alex Greenwood (Man City): Fitting that she scored her team’s final goal of the season. Arguably now one of the best ball-playing centre-backs in Europe.

RM: Ashleigh Neville (Tottenham): Scored Spurs’ only goal against Leicester from the more advanced role she has been introduced to at times this season.

CM: Erin Cuthbert (Chelsea): The Scot’s energy and drive ensured that a Chelsea were not totally overrun by Manchester United in a tense first half. Scored the first equaliser too.

CM: Vivianne Miedema (Arsenal): Could the weekend have been her final game for Arsenal? If it was, it was the perfect way to bow out, pulling the creative strings and getting an assist.

LM: Guro Reiten (Chelsea): Recovered superbly well in the second half as the Blues eventually breezed past Manchester United. Scored the go-ahead goal that effectively secured the title.

RF: Beth Mead (Arsenal): Created numerous chances for the Gunners in their must-win final game, even if it wasn’t quite enough for the trophy in the end.

ST: Sam Kerr (Chelsea): Her performance decided the season. Two stunning goals, the second arguably even better than the first, put the Blues back level and then eventually out of sight.

LF: Lauren Hemp (Man City): Scored another important goal to take her league tally into double figures, which set the ball rolling for a win that delivered Champions League football.
