According to a recent report from Fabrizio Romano, Granit Xhaka’s move from Arsenal to Roma this summer is believed to have collapsed.
Arsenal will instead announce a new contract extension for the Swiss star who, in the eyes of many, had a really strong tournament at Euro 2020 that saw him help guide Switzerland to the latter stages of the knockouts.
They didn’t quite manage to go all the way but what they did do was earn the respect of the football world – with Xhaka being at the forefront of that.
He doesn’t alway show up when it matters the most for the Gunners but whenever he does, there are few midfielders better in the Premier League.
Arsenal quite clearly understand that and they’re willing to take the plunge by offering him an exciting new deal – but it won’t mean a whole lot if they don’t up their game this season.
