Bayern Munich’s best and worst players in enthralling Real Madrid draw

When you come away from a Champions League game against Real Madrid feeling disappointed with a draw, chances are you’ve done something right.

Bayern Munich definitely had their bright moments in Tuesday’s 2-2 draw, including fast starts to both halves of football, but ultimately have to do it all again away from home when the two sides face off next week in the second leg.

Here are Bayern’s best and worst players from 90min‘s player ratings.

Konrad Laimer – 8/10

8/10, or one point for every lung inside Konrad Laimer’s chest.

The midfielder was a monster at the heart of the pitch, charging around from the first whistle to the last to stop Madrid’s technicians from getting going, and he even walked away with the assist for Leroy Sane’s equaliser.

Honourable mention

Harry Kane – 7/10

There are few players in world football you’d want on your penalties more than Harry Kane on nights like this.

Kane took his goal well but was his typical all-round threat for the vast majority of the game, dragging Madrid’s defence around and leaving them chasing shadows at times.

Kim Min-jae – 4/10

Look, dealing with Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo isn’t easy for any centre-back, but Kim Min-jae made it look like really hard work.

Dragged out of position for the opening goal, Kim was also guilty of gifting Madrid their equaliser as he dragged Rodrygo down in the box. Another poor performance from the South Korea international.

Dishonourable mention

Leon Goretzka – 5/10

After Madrid took the lead, they sat deep and challenged Bayern to try and create something to get through them.

Leon Goretzka failed that test and was hauled off at half-time as Thomas Tuchel masterminded a way back into the time.
