Everton vs Chelsea – Premier League: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction

An Everton side buoyed by bursting out of the bottom three after their latest win host tenth-placed Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Toffees’ 3-0 victory over Newcastle on Thursday night was a major boost for the players and fans. Had they not incurred a points penalty earlier in the campaign, Sean Dyche’s side would sit a point ahead of Chelsea coming into this fixture.

Mauricio Pochettino’s Blues are already at risk of being cut adrift from the European places, sitting seven points away from Newcastle in seventh and five behind West Ham in ninth. The loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford was another setback manager Pochettino didn’t need and this trip to Goodison Park will be far from easy.

Here is all you need to know about Everton vs Chelsea in the Premier League this weekend.

Everton were very happy to see Dominic Calvert-Lewin make his return to fitness for the match against Newcastle on Thursday and he should be involved again this weekend.

Amadou Onana, Andre Gomes and Dele Alli are all still out of the frame, while there will be a battle between Seamus Coleman, Nathan Patterson and Ashley Young for the right-back spot. Sean Dyche is expected to pick largely the same team given the good performance against Newcastle and the week of rest that will come after Sunday’s game.

Everton predicted lineup vs Chelsea (4-4-1-1): Pickford; Coleman, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Young, Doucoure, Gueye, McNeil; Harrison; Calvert-Lewin.

Conor Gallagher

Chelsea have had plenty of injury woes so far this season but a handful of players have outside chances of being ready to return against Everton on Sunday afternoon.

Noni Madueke, Romeo Lavia and Christopher Nkunku could make the squad but none are expected to start. Malo Gusto, Ben Chilwell, Wesley Fofano, Trevoh Chalobah, Carney Chukwuemeka and Lesley Ugochukwu are all firm absentees.

Conor Gallagher will be available again after serving his suspension against Man Utd.

Chelsea predicted lineup vs Everton (4-2-3-1): Sanchez; James, Colwill, Silva, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Palmer, Gallagher, Sterling; Jackson.

Everton and Chelsea have had very unusual seasons so far for different reasons but it is the Toffees who may come into this match with more confidence.

The inconsistency of both teams makes it a difficult game to predict, but there will be a great atmosphere at Goodison Park and the Toffees will be confident of claiming a result having won four of their last six league games.

There should be goals, but the two sides may well cancel each other out and have to share the points come full-time.

Prediction: Everton 2-2 Chelsea
